Dowodem niech będą intrygujące badania statystyczne przeprowadzone przez powstające w Warszawie Muzeum Sztuki Nowoczesnej. Jak z nich wynika aż 78,6 % mieszkańców Warszawy odwiedza muzea, galerie i inne miejsca związane ze sztuką przynajmniej raz w roku, 56 % interesuje się sztuką, 53 % sztuką nowoczesną. Nie dowiedzielibyśmy się o tym, gdyby Muzeum Sztuki Nowoczesnej nie ogłosiło wyników konkursu architektonicznego na projekt budynku. Wygrała propozycja szwajcarskiego projektanta Christiana Kereza, która także została poddana badaniom. Ale to już zupełnie inna historia.


Welcome to Warsaw - the most cultural capital in the neighbourhood!
Let the proof for this be the intriguing statistic survey conducted by the newly established Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw. According to the statistics, 78,6 % of Varsovians visit museums, galleries, and other places connected with Art at least once a year, 56 % are interested in Art, 53% in Modern Art. We would never have known this if the Museum of Modern Art had not announced the results of the architectural contest for the project of its building. The project of the Swiss architect Christian Kerez, which was also the subject of a survey, has won the first prize. But this is another story.

Museum of Modern Art will be built in the very centre of the city, between the Palace of Culture
and Marszałkowska street. It will be the first large museum constructed in Warsaw since the 1930s, when the National Museum has opened. Here are the first renderings of Christian Kerez’s design - a general view and the vaulted ceiling of the main exhibition hall on the top floor which will cover an area of about 1 hectare.

Badanie "Opinie Warszawiaków o projektach budynku Muzeum Sztuki Nowoczesnej" zostało zrealizowane przez Centrum Badania Opinii Społecznej na zlecenie Muzeum Sztuki Nowoczesnej w Warszawie. Sondaż przeprowadzono 26-28 lutego 2007 na reprezentatywnej próbie mieszkańców Warszawy w wieku 15 lat i więcej, liczącej 500 osób.


The survey "The opinion of Varsovians on the projects of the building of the Museum of Modern Art" has been conducted by the Center of Public Opinion on the request of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw. The survey has been conducted on the 26th-28th February, 2007 on a representative group of 500 Varsovians between the ages of 15 and more.
